Not sure of your size?
Search by year, make, and model to find the exact fit for your vehicle.
Every tire has a standardized size code on its sidewall — for example 215/55R17 94V. Understanding what each number means helps you find the right replacement quickly.
215 is the section width in millimeters. 55 is the aspect ratio — sidewall height as a percentage of width. R stands for Radial construction. 17 is the rim (wheel) diameter in inches. 94V is the load index (94 = 1,477 lb per tire) and speed rating (V = up to 149 mph).
Three places: (1) the sticker on the inside of your driver's door jamb — most reliable; (2) your owner's manual under Specifications; or (3) the sidewall of your current tires. The door sticker may also list an approved alternate size for a different load or handling feel.
Minor width changes (±10mm) and aspect ratio adjustments are generally safe if the overall tire diameter stays within 3% of OEM spec — this is called plus sizing. Changing rim diameter (e.g. R17 → R18) requires new wheels. Always confirm fitment with a tire professional before ordering.
Never fit a tire with a lower load index or speed rating than your vehicle's OEM spec. The most common ratings are H (130 mph), V (149 mph), W (168 mph), and Y (186 mph). The load index number maps to a specific weight capacity per tire.
